It is time for Satu-ma-ati exploration.
As I enter the Library, I see one of the desks lit up.
The yellow light intensifies as I approach.
I see The Fool and an open volume next to it.
The pages are browned from age, and the letters are pale.
I sit down on a hard, wooden chair, polished and smooth, dark lacquer glistening.
An enormous force elevates the letters, leaving the pages bare, then it lifts the book and the part of the desk on which it has rested.
A powerful stream forms. It flows to the left, around the untouched fragment of the desk, and into the shade underneath...
The movement continues...Â
The golden-brown translucent river keeps flowingÂ
while I remain in my seat watching it.
The stream stops abruptly and dissipates.Â
I see the sign that has all the answers - the key.
"My words are empty because I have no need to speak - to flourish - to decorate my syllables with beautiful designs. I possess no knowledge but the one my experience has given me. I am wise, but do I know the extent of my wisdom? My experience weighs heavily on my shoulders, but I have a consoling soul - a cheerful spark within it. I will endure and survive no matter the circumstances."
 Â
What do you do in life?
"I roam. I experiment and sometimes I throw myself at the mercy of the most unwholesome human beings, hoping they would find the spark too."
Â
What do you love?
"I love existence as it is. I see it as it is. I see myself as somebody who simply passes by and enjoys the views and all the quirks each new place has to offer."
Â
What do you think of the people you meet?
"They are strange to me. Somehow, most of them like me, but they don't like me enough to stick around. So, I keep moving, keep meeting new people, keep wishing them happiness."
Do you like animals?
"Ha! You think I like dogs, don't you? :) I don't mind animals. I would have had pets and could have loved and cared for them. But, I don't, since I am always ready to move on - to travel again. So⌠you know⌠it is easier to travel without pets."
Â
What about your personal life? Do you date? Do you hope to find somebody special one day?
"I keep the "somebody special" at a safe distance and keep believing that the distance will shorten one day. I date more out of habit or exploration. I am not sure which one of the two it really is. As I have said, people like me at first, but then they move on. Some may try to change me, to make me who they want me to be. I suppose, so they can like me again. I don't mind. They are free to make their own choices. By the way, the only people who remain, who keep trying, are my family. I am not sure if I will ever have a family of my own. If I do, my partner will probably be The Fool like me."
Â
What do you think of life's purpose? Do you think you have a life purpose?
"Hmm⌠What is my purpose? I think my purpose is faith in humanity - a profound belief that each one will find the spark in their souls and let it shine. I suppose, if it is my purpose, I should be more proactive⌠Somehow, I feel that hope is enough."
A meditative practice for threshold moments
Close your eyes.
Take a few deep breaths.
Imagine yourself standing before an opening in the groundâa giant hole of sorts.
Inside this opening, you see the entire Universe.
You donât need to jump in.
Simply stand there and observe.
What are you feeling right now?
What sensations do you experience in your body?
What thoughts enter your mind?
Let all thoughts come.
Gently remind yourself where you are standing.
Embrace this sensory experience until you feel youâve had enough.
Ask yourself:
âWhat situation in my current life requires me to make a decisionâwhether to take a risk, act in a new way, or pace myself and act more conservatively?â
You may phrase the question in your own way.
Let the situation arise naturally.
If nothing comes, let go and return to your breath.
If something does come, observe:
⢠Where does your body instinctively want to move?
⢠Do you feel the urge to back away or leap forward?
Are there multiple situations? Let them surface.
Once you feel complete,
Take a few deep breaths.
Open your eyes.
Give yourself a moment to return to your reality.
This practice is not about answersâitâs about alignment with your Fool-self, the part of you that observes the edge, carries the spark, and chooses movement with awareness. âŚ
